Winter newsletter 2017


Dr Vanessa Lynch; sadly Dr Lynch will be leaving the practice in December.

It has been a privilege to serve you all over the last 20 years but I will be leaving Beaconsfield Medical Practice at Christmas.

We have shared both the sad moments and the happier times from our lives. From time

to time there has been the need for reassurance or a few tears. But I hope I also made a few of you laugh!

I leave you with this message.

Repeat prescriptions

Please note when ordering repeat prescriptions please do not order any more than two weeks in advance (unless there is a certain reason i.e. holiday, in which case please specify).

CQC Inspection

The Practice is delighted to announce that we have received an overall 'Good' rating from the Care Quality Commission inspection, with some 'Outstanding' points highlighted throughout the report. Welcome to Beaconsfield Medical Practice

It is our aim to provide the highest possible standard of medical care for our patients and during the course of your consultation we will undertake such examinations as appear to be appropriate in all circumstances.

Serving You

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

Partners in Care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Our new GP Dr Jim Rehill will be joining the practice on the 1st December. We are also welcoming back Dr Amrit Baura who will be with us over the next few months.

Feeling Unwell?

There is a range of NHS services on your doorstep.


A range of common illnesses, upset stomachs and aches and pains can be treated with a very well stocked medicine cabinet and plenty of rest.

Some self-care essentials include:

  • paracetamol, ibuprofen
  • anti-diarrheal medicine
  • re-hydration mixtures
  • indigestion remedies
  • plasters and a thermometer

NHS Choices This is a website where you can find up-to-date, reliable and expert advice and treatment for a range of common illnesses and complaints, as well as find your nearest NHS services, such as GP’s, dentists, pharmacists and walk-in centers.

NHS 111 – This is a free to call service which will help you when you need to access medical help fast but NOT AN EMERGENCY. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you access local urgent health care services.


If you have an illness or injury that persists, make an appointment with your GP. They provide a range of services by appointment, including medical advice, examinations and prescriptions.

Walk-in Centre

The nearest Walk-in Centre is located at: Brighton Station Walk In Centre [Aspect House, 84-87 Queens Road, Brighton] 0333 321 0946.  Open 7 days a week - 8.00 am to 8.00 pm ... they are able to cope with a range of conditions, rashes and burns. They are also able to provide emergency contraception. 

A&E and 999

A&E departments and the 999 ambulance service should only be used in a serious life-threatening situation. If in doubt ring NHS 111 for advice. Dialing 999 and stating an emergency situation will result in a responsive vehicle being sent to your location.
